Washington, DC – Senators Jim Webb and Mark R. Warner today announced that more than $26.4 million in funding was secured for a number of water projects in Hampton Roads. The funds were included in the FY2010 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, passed in the Senate on Wednesday night, which provides funding for the Department of Energy, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of the Interior, and economic development projects.

Warner today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released more than $13.5 million in grants for twenty-four community health centers in Virginia to maintain facilities and to improve services as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner (VA), along with Senators Jim Webb (VA), Barbara A. Mikulski (MD) and Benjamin L. Cardin (MD) today introduced the Chesapeake Bay Science, Education and Ecosystem Enhancement Act of 2009, which would strengthen and enhance the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) role in the multi-state Chesapeake Bay clean-up effort.
