U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine joined a bipartisan group of 12 Senators in urging the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to change inconsistent and burdensome regulations placed on “Blue Water Navy” veterans seeking health care and benefits for conditions resulting from exposure to toxic chemicals during their service aboard Navy ships in Vietnam.

The U.S. Senate today joined the House of Representatives in passing bipartisan legislation that honors the late Phyllis Galanti’s service to America’s military men and women and their families by naming the outdoor arboretum at Richmond’s McGuire VA Medical Center The Phyllis Galanti Memorial Arboretum.
Sen. Warner was joined by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (V-A) Secretary Robert McDonald to thank the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) for donating their time and expertise to improve the V-A’s health care system following a nationwide crisis of veterans’ access to medical care.

Sens. Warner, Kaine and John McCain (R-AZ) have introduced bipartisan legislation honoring the late Phyllis Galanti’s service to America’s military men and women and their families by naming the outdoor arboretum at Richmond’s McGuire VA Medical Center The Phyllis Galanti Memorial Arboretum.
Sens. Warner and Kaine released a statement on the announcement by the Department of Veterans Affairs that it will revise the 40-mile eligibility rule for the Veterans Choice program.
Today, Sens. Warner and Kaine joined a bipartisan group of 40 colleagues in writing to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald raising serious concerns about the implementation of the Veterans Choice Card program.
