Sen. Warner’s IRS Identity Fraud Amdt Passes Unanimously at Budget Markup

Sen. Warner’s amendment to require the IRS to notify taxpayers if they are a victim of identity fraud passed the Budget Committee unanimously today. Senator Warner has repeatedly called on the IRS to address this issue and recently wrote to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen requesting more information about the agency’s ability to detect and combat fraud.
