Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner (D-VA), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, released the following statement today on the re-nomination of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke for a second term:

"I support the nomination of Chairman Bernanke for a second term. Like many of our regulatory agencies, the Federal Reserve failed to adequately foresee the economic meltdown we faced two years ago. However, I believe Chairman Bernanke has performed well in implementing federal monetary policy and recognizing the necessity for more aggressive regulatory responsibilities for the Fed going forward."
