Housing
Sen. Warner is deeply concerned by the affordable housing crisis, which is squeezing families across the Commonwealth. In the Senate, he has championed a wide range of legislation to increase the housing supply, get first time homebuyers down payment assistance, and help homeowners gain equity in their homes more quickly. He has also pushed to rehabilitate the existing housing supply by expanding tax credits for restoration projects on existing homes. Additionally, Sen. Warner has actively pushed for improvements to public and private military housing, and looks for opportunities to ensure there are investments in military housing in every annual defense bill. He also champions affordable housing developments through every annual government spending bill as part of the congressionally directed spending process.
