Today Senator Warner and a coalition of energy leaders unveiled a set of recommendations designed to double U.S. energy productivity by 2030. “Doubling our energy productivity will yield huge returns for our economy and increase our competitiveness,” said Senator Warner, who serves as co-chair of the Alliance to Save Energy with National Grid U.S. President Tom King.

Sen. Warner Commemorates 10th Anniversary of Space Shuttle Columbia Tragedy

Yesterday Senator Warner cosponsored a resolution to mark today, the 10th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy as NASA Remembrance Day.
In a statement, U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine also criticized the legislation.

“On a day when Americans celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday and inaugurated Barack Obama as president, Virginia Senate Republicans took advantage of the absence of civil rights leader Sen. Henry Marsh to push through a hyper-partisan change to Virginia’s already gerrymandered legislative district map,” the Virginia Democrats’ statement read. “This is not the way we should be conducting the people’s business in Virginia.”
NEWPORT NEWS— Sara Jane Arnett of Newport News was hoping to score tickets to the presidential inauguration. She ended up with a more direct connection.
Arnett, an award-winning military spouse, will attend the swearing-in ceremony at the request of Virginia Sen. Mark R. Warner, who invited her as his special guest.
