Senator Warner has consistently highlighted the devastating impact that sequestration would have on our defense industry and national security. Today, at a Senate Budget Committee Hearing, he noted that its impact would extend far beyond defense.
Senator Warner joined CBS This Morning to discuss the impending across-the-board sequester budget cuts scheduled to take effect on Friday. Asked about the status of current negotiations, he again criticized the failure of Congress to find common ground before the 11th hour.
Sen. Warner joined host Kai Ryssdal on public radio’s Marketplace to address Congress’ failure to act in the face of the broad sequester cuts scheduled for March 1. He continued to emphasize the mindless inefficiency of the across-the-board cuts, and his exasperation with the political dysfunction preventing a deal from being reached.

Senator Warner celebrated the beginning of "the year of the snake" on Sunday at the Eden Center in Falls Church. The Senator watched the lion dance and an impressive fireworks display and participated in the flag ceremony.

Senator Warner stopped by the University of Virginia yesterday to speak to the "Up to Us" campaign about the deficit and debt. Up to Us is a student-led campaign to educate young people about the nation's fiscal issues.
Senator Warner spoke this morning with Rick Rumble of FM 99/WNOR Norfolk’s Rumble in the Morning about the looming sequestration cuts, which have already impacted thousands of Virginians in the Hampton Roads area and across the commonwealth.
