The clinic's work and the senator's attention has paid off. Last August, Puller became the first law school clinic in the nation to join a select VA group dedicated to preparing fully developed claims, joining the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
Sen. Warner was named chairman of the Senate Finance Committee's Subcommittee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Growth following a markup to renew expired tax breaks and credits.
Sen. Warner joined six Democrats in voting against the 12-month patch to what is known as the Medicare “doc fix,” the annual adjustment to reimbursement formulas for health providers serving Medicare recipients. Sen. Warner voted against the “patch” because it is a short-sighted solution to the long-term problem of the current Medicare payment system.
