The Chinese drywall controversy surfaced again today on Capitol Hill as the Senate Commerce Committee considered the nomination of Inez Tenenbaum to chair the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Senator Warner directed Ms. Tenenbaum to remain focused on the "Kafka-esque tragedy" which has impacted hundreds of families across Hampton Roads.

At a hearing last month, Senator Warner expressed frustration with the CPSC investigation of Chinese drywall, which have taken longer than expected and originally were centered on warmer climate areas, such as Florida and Louisiana.

"Make sure that you've got other states involved in those tests as well," he said.
