Discussing reform on “Fox & Friends”

Senator Warner appeared on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” this morning to discuss his efforts to reach bipartisan agreement on Wall Street reform.

“I spent 20 years in the business world and four years as governor where we measured what we got done rather than by partisanship. There’s nothing inherently Republican or Democrat about putting financial rules of the road in place.

I spent the last year working with my good friend, Republican Senator Bob Corker, trying to get parts of this right, and I sure … hope that we can find some common ground and get a centrist bill here that will set the rules of the road not for the next year but for the next 25 or 30 years.”

Senator Warner also explained his role in crafting parts of the legislation to ensure that taxpayers are not left holding the bag if large, interconnected companies get into trouble.
