This event is free to all participants but registration is required as space is limited!

KEYNOTE
Margot Lee Shetterly is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, and an Executive Producer of the Oscar-nominated film adaptation of her book. She is also the founder of the Human Computer Project, a digital archive telling the stories of women from all backgrounds who worked as “Human Computers” at NASA and other organizations. Shetterly is a scholar-in-residence at the University of Virginia, with joint appointments at the McIntire School of Commerce and the School of Engineering.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
This year, we are asking attendees to participate in our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Please bring some of the following items as your admission to the conference to help Virginians in need. These items will be delivered to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore for distribution.
Most needed items: Lean Canned Protein (Tuna, Chicken, Turkey), Peanut Butter, Beans, Canned Fruits, Canned Vegetables, Cereal & Oatmeal, Pasta & Sauce, Rice, Crackers, Granola Bars, Pancake Mix, Soups, Stews, and Chili, 100% Fruit Juice, Condiments, Flour, Cooking Oil, Herbs and Spices, Personal Hygiene Items, Baby Products (Formula, Diapers, Wipes, Baby Food).

CONFERENCE LOGISTICS
- Individuals needing assistance: Individuals with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid or service should email events@warner.senate.gov no later than Friday, November 6, 2026.
- Venue: #VAWC26 will be held in the Webb University Center at Old Dominion University, 1301 West 49th Street, Norfolk, VA, 23529.
- Parking: Attendees are directed to park in the 49th street Stadium Garage at ODU.
- Registration: Doors open and check-in will begin at 8:00 AM.
- Breakfast/Lunch: A continental breakfast and boxed lunch will be provided. Refreshments will also be available for purchase in the food court.
- Breakout Sessions: Workshop locations will be indicated in the program you receive upon check-in.
