The Southwest Virginia Craft Beer Summit aims to highlight an emerging industry in Southwest Virginia.  This summit is a one day event, allowing industry leaders and community stakeholders to discuss the economic development opportunities surrounding craft beer.  The summit will be followed by a tour of Wolf Hills Brewery, a local brewery in Abingdon.

The Southwest Virginia Craft Beer Summit is an initiative of Senator Mark Warner’s office, The Virginia Tourism Corporation, and The Southwest Virginia Cultural Heritage Foundation.  The goals of this initiative are:

  1. To discuss, and potentially advance, the development of a Southwest Virginia Craft Brew Trail or a similar marketing campaign.
  2. To underscore the importance of craft brewing to the creative economy in Southwest Virginia.
  3. To foster a dialogue on how craft brewing can fit in with other tourism initiatives and to facilitate those partnerships.
