“America needs to get its ‘swagger’ back,” Senator Warner told the Prince William Chamber of Commerce at a lunch event today. The Senator spoke in Manassas about the need to tackle the deficit crisis in order to move on to the next urgent priority: sparking innovation and job creation. “I haven’t met one Virginian, or really one American, who isn’t willing to make some sacrifices if everyone has some skin in the game,” he said.

Senator Warner discussed regulatory reform, infrastructure investment and other ideas designed to strengthen the economy: “None of these is a silver bullet, but it’s a start.”

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is the largest chamber in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with nearly 2,000 member businesses representing more than 66,000 employees.

Senator Warner closed by answering questions from the audience, and he said he would continue to reach across the aisle to work for real results.

“Folks in Prince William County have always been about getting stuff done,” Senator Warner said. “We need that to apply that same can-do spirit toward tackling the problems with our economy.”
