“I am glad that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is getting the medical treatment he requires, and I know his family is relieved that he has been freed from captivity. As Gen. Martin Dempsey said, I expect that questions about Sgt. Bergdahl’s conduct will be handled through the military chain of command if that is warranted.
While the President is the commander in chief, Congress also has a role, and I have serious concerns about how the White House handled this situation. Congress should have been informed.”
