Murkowski Amendment

A spokesman from Senator Warner’s office released the following statement today on Senator Warner’s vote on the Murkowski amendment:

Senator Warner voted against Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s proposal to strip the Environmental Protection Agency of the authority to regulate air pollution and health standards under the Clean Air Act because he believes removing this EPA authority removes any impetus to adopt a comprehensive energy bill.

Senator Warner remains committed to a comprehensive approach that improves air quality and create thousands of ‘green’ energy jobs by reducing our nation’s reliance on imported oil through an ‘all-of-the-above,’ portfolio approach to renewable energy sources.
