Energy & Environment

Senator Warner firmly believes in diverse policy solutions to build America’s energy independence and meet rapidly growing energy demand while keeping costs low for Virginia households. He supports an all-of-the-above energy strategy that invests in clean energy, strengthens domestic production, modernizes the electric grid, and reduces reliance on foreign fuel sources.

In the Senate, Senator Warner has worked to defend investments in clean energy and advanced manufacturing, including offshore wind, nuclear, and other zero-carbon technologies that create jobs and lower energy costs. He has stood up to efforts that undermine these investments, raise electricity prices, or slow progress on climate action, and continues to push for policies that grow Virginia’s clean energy economy and strengthen U.S. energy leadership.

From the mountains to the coast, Virginia is home to beautiful wilderness spaces that support local communities through tourism and recreation β€“ a vital part of Virginia’s economy and quality of life. Senator Warner wrote and passed into law the bipartisan Great American Outdoors Act, the largest investment in U.S. public lands history, and he remains committed to protecting parks, forests, and waterways for future generations.

Climate change is already affecting Virginia, from rising sea levels and coastal flooding to more frequent extreme weather. Senator Warner supports practical, science-based solutions that reduce emissions, strengthen resilience, and help communities prepare for the impacts of a changing climate – while creating good-paying jobs and keeping energy affordable.
