Technology

As a former tech entrepreneur, Senator Warner believes technology competition is the defining issue of the 21st century, and that America needs to be the global leader on emerging technologies to promote national security and remain economically competitive. He is also deeply concerned by the impacts of unregulated artificial intelligence, and is pushing for bipartisan solutions to protect and retrain workers amid the massive upheaval AI is causing in the job market.

He consistently fights for a more humane and secure tech ecosystem, working to safeguard our elections from foreign tech interference, create a safer online environment for kids and teens, and crack down on AI’s malicious misuses, like deepfake campaigns and intimate image generation.

Senator Warner also recognizes that as technological developments create massive changes in our economy, thousands of homes and businesses across Virginia still lack high-speed internet. Senator Warner has authored and passed several laws, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to close the digital divide and ensure Virginia is the first state in the nation to achieve universal broadband coverage.
