Sen. Warner, Rep. Kinzinger Urge Pentagon To Complete Probe Involving Air Force F-22 Whistleblower

~ Va. pilot stepped up, prompted USAF to acknowledge, fix safety problems ~

May 01 2014

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL-11) today asked U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to order the timely completion of a nearly two-year-long Pentagon investigation into alleged retaliation against Virginia Air National Guard pilots who stepped forward to publicly discuss their safety concerns about flying the F-22 Raptor.

On May 6, 2012, Capt. Joshua Wilson and Maj. Jeremy Gordon, two F-22 pilots assigned to Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, appeared on CBS’ “60 Minutes” program to describe chronic pilot health and safety concerns surrounding the F-22. Sen. Warner and Rep. Kinzinger formed a bipartisan partnership and successfully pushed the Air Force to acknowledge, and ultimately correct, the problems which had plagued the F-22 aircraft for years.
