WASHINGTON – Ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to a joint meeting of Congress tomorrow, Senate India Caucus co-Chairs Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statements:

Sen. Warner: “Relations between the U.S. and India have never been stronger.  From increasing trade links to maritime cooperation to reconstruction in Afghanistan, our two nations have developed a global strategic partnership.  As co-Chair of the Senate India Caucus, I welcome the Prime Minister to Washington.”?  

Sen. Cornyn: “The United States and India are the world’s oldest and largest democracies, a fact not lost on either as our two countries continue to forge a lasting and special bond. On behalf of the hundreds of thousands of Indian-Americans in Texas and as co-Chair and co-Founder of the Senate India Caucus I welcome Prime Minister Modi to the United States, and look forward to hearing how we can continue to strengthen the partnership between our two nations.”
