Senator Warner met this afternoon with about twenty students from William and Mary’s Summer Community Engagement Institute. The students ranged from freshmen to recently graduated seniors but were all in DC with one goal: to learn about leadership and community involvement by volunteering in DC’s non-profit organizations.

The students spent the morning volunteering at the DC Central Kitchen and stopped by the Hill on the way back to meet with Senator Warner. They had great questions for the Senator, including his advice on leadership.

“The most important thing is knowing that at some point you’re going to fail,” Senator Warner said. “If you’re always afraid to fail, you’re not going to be a good leader.”
