Senator Warner will host the second annual Virginia Young Professionals Summit (YP2012) on Saturday, Sept. 29th in Richmond. YP2012 helps to connect young adults from across Virginia with professional growth and networking opportunities.
Senators Warner and Webb today voted in support of the bipartisan Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act, which will benefit Virginia farmers while continuing to provide a strong foundation for restoring the health of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The 2012 Farm Bill, which saves taxpayers more than $23 billion, was approved with broad bipartisan support on a 64-35 vote today.

Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner today announced $148 million in federal grants to Virginia agencies, municipalities, and public safety organizations. The 296 U.S. Department of Justice grants support public safety projects across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

WASHINGTON -- Sens. Jim Webb (D-VA) and Mark Warner (D-VA) announced today that Virginia has received nearly $5.5 million in grants to upgrade runways and purchase safety equipment at seven regional airports in Virginia. The U.S. Department of Transportation grants are for use in projects intended to enhance safety and bring airports up to Federal Aviation Administration standards. The projects include renovating runways and, in some cases, purchasing new firefighting or snow removal equipment.

Warner and Jim Webb today announced approval by the Senate's Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee of the Chesapeake Bay Science, Education and Ecosystem Enhancement Act of 2009, which the Virginia lawmakers introduced earlier this year with Maryland Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin to strengthen and enhance the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) role in the multi-state Chesapeake Bay clean-up effort.

Gibney of Richmond for the judicial vacancy that exists in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The Senators made their recommendation in a letter Wednesday to President Barack Obama. Mr. Gibney, a partner in the Richmond law firm Thompson-McMullan since 2003, has practiced law for more than three decades in state and federal courts in the Commonwealth.

Washington, DC – Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner supported final passage of the FY 2010 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which provides funding for the Department of Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, as well as the United States Forest Service. The measure passed last night on a bipartisan vote of 77 to 21, and will now go to conference committee with the House of Representatives.
